Video Camera was one of the very first dedicated camcorder magazines and as technical editor and resident Agony Aunt I wrote for almost every issue from its launch in 1989 until it's eventual amalgamation with What Camcorder magazine in 2000 (which I still write for)
Video Camera was very much a hands-on magazine with plenty of practical how to do it features and advice but the most interesting elements, from my point of view, was the camcorder reviews, which chart a period of exciting technical development and the evolution of home movie-making from a expensive hobby to something anyone could do as the market became awash with simple and affordable pocket-size machines'
By the way, in case you are wondering why the archive begins at 1993 that's because my files prior to then were written on a number of different PCs and word processors using an awkward mixture of disc formats. Extracting the files is high on my list of things to do, whilst they are still readable...
